The Sacred Months

A lecture that is very important to understand as it highlights the four sacred months mentioned in the Quran which are given to us by Allah for our personal character development. Most importantly this lecture also clarifies and identifies which four of the twelve months in the Muslim calendar are to be considered sacred, and the duties and obligations that Muslims have to perform and abide by during those months.

Salah – Prayer

Riba – The Increase

For any Muslim who face a dilemma when dealing with interest from the banking system, and whether it is permissible or not, this lecture finally and very conclusively clarifies the concept of Riba / increase, which has been erroneously promoted and mistranslated / interpreted through time as the interest transaction of the banking system. A lecture that should be watched in conjunction with the sadqa and zakah lecture for a fuller and detailed comprehension of the concept of Riba / increase which Allah has prohibited (made haram).

Zakah – Justification

As Muslims it is compulsory on us to give charities. This lecture not only describes from the verses of the Quran as to the quantity of charity that is obligatory on us, but also to whom the charity has to be given. The categories of recipients of charity and specific calculation of the amount due is mentioned in the Quran and highlighted in this lecture.

Parent & Children Relationship

This lecture describes the problems and the situations that arise between parent and children, because every parent belongs to a certain culture and and belief systems, which the parents try to transfer to the children (what the parents think are right). Because the parents are a child’s ideal (as they are growing up) one of two things occur, either the child accepts the philosophies of the parent as it is (and the children’s personalities are killed) or the child grows up with his/her own views and confronts the parents because of the contradictions they have seen between the parents and/or between parents and the child’s own feelings. This lecture describes both what parents have to do as children are growing up and what children have to do when they are grown up to have a good relationship with their parents.

Divorce

Islam is the only religion which allows divorce, infact there is a whole chapter in the Quran named “Divorce,” the current practices of divorce generally is far from the correct method ordained by God in the Quran. This lecture looks into the prerequisites of divorce mentioned in the Quran for both a man when he is giving a divorce, and a woman when she is taking a divorce, as both men and women have been given this option by God in the Quran. Obscenity

A subject that is of the highest importance for Muslims to learn about, and this lectures defines in detail from the Quranic verses as to what is Fahisha / Obscenity and what is included in it, different types of Fahisha (indecent / shameful acts, fornication, adultery, incest, lewd, lust, homosexuality, pornography etc.), why it is committed along with different hadith / events from the Quran (of Lut pbuh and Yusuf pbuh) that are given for further elaboration, the punishment mentioned in the Quran for those committing the shameful acts and a brief cross comparison with bible to show the source of many misconceptions prevailing in the Muslim community, and lastly how we have to protect ourselves and avoid Fahisha which will always be prevalent in the community in all times.

Husband and wife relationship

A lecture that is a must see for any one who is married or is about to begin a matrimonial life. This lecture describes from the Quran, the role of a believing woman as a wife and believing man as a husband, what limitations they have to abide by, how to maintain a healthy marriage from physical and psychological point of view and ultimately how to handle or protect the relationship from slow disintegration.
